The art scene in Reno, Nevada is exploding and Liberty Fine Art Gallery, located next to the Nevada Museum of Art, has become a hub for the arts. It is the home base and starting point of Geralda Miller’s and Eric Brook’s ArtSpot Reno’s First Thursday Art Walk.

I was invited by Rich VanGogh (owner and director of Liberty Fine Art Gallery) and Jill Glenn (Marketing Director for Liberty Fine Art Gallery) to be a guest artist at the gallery for several months beginning in June 2014.  On June 5th, at the First Thursday Open House Reception, The World of Glimpse was launched with the theme “Where Art, Literature, and Theater Intersect and Merge.”  The show was curated by Jill Glenn. More than 500 people attended the event.

It truly was an extraordinary multimedia happening – an exciting combination of a book-signing, an exhibition of both my original paintings and archival-quality prints, a spontaneous, creative theatrical performance based on The World of Glimpse by Pan Pantoja and Kelsey Sweet (The Potentialist Workshop).  You can see more photographs in The Verseblurt Cafe.

Other festivities included abundant wine, food catered by SODO’S Restaurant, and delicious popsicle cakes made by confectioner Toni Harris (Sugar Rush) which represented the colors of the Lunaberry Popsicles of The World of Glimpse.  Live music was provided by Engred Barnett and Friends from The Reno Philharmonic.

How fortunate I am to have my work exhibited among the many exceptional artists in this beautiful gallery space!  The positive, collaborative, group energy that I felt, was, indeed, an enriching experience.

A very special Thank You to Rich and Jill for this opportunity.
