There is more to life than increasing its speed.
-Mahatma Gandhi
There never seems to be enough time in the day or night to create. So many people today are excessively busy. Often, there is not even the time for them to begin something they’ve been yearning to do for perhaps many years. For creative people, the need to express themselves can be paramount and once they have sublimated their creative desires, they are often left with a sense of defeat – of dashed hopes and a loss of the opportunity to explore and realize their own potential.
Because technology connects us to so much today and gives us opportunities to do a great deal ourselves, we also do too much that is unconnected to who we really are – or might become. “We are being pounced upon by ever-increasing technological advances and alternatives – some impressive, but many developed only because of perceived gaps in the market.” (HAVE YOU EVER HAD A HUNCH? The Importance of Creative Thinking). There is simply no time to create:
Day-Not-Long-Enuffis
Are you
Suffering from
Day-Not-Long-Enuffis
Acute Not-catching-up-is?
A touch of Giving-up-
or a dose of Why-bother-itis?
Then call
The NO-TIME-CRISIS!
PRESS ZERO for advisis…
on slowing the clock.
Beating its chime.
It’s all so futilitis
if time runs outis.
(I TOUCHED A STAR IN MY DREAM LAST NIGHT)
We need to reclaim our time wherever and whenever possible!
This poem…. so creative and true….gives me the gumption to start my next project, no time to waste.
Will teach myself soldering on one of my welded sculptures. Have an idea!
